The Ascend - Ascend to Greater Heights
It’s not on your website. Is there a newer version? Link please n
C'mon, tell me about the different clamps and options, that's isn't explained well anywhere.
How do you do tripod overviews and never extend them and put them on the ground at various heights? Time to update these...
i have one in mint cond for sale
The Quick Column you used is the : Ascend Platform Center Column On your Website ? Or is it the : Ascend Ball Head Center Column???? can you give me the link? Is it compatible with TVC 34??
Please bring it back 🙏🏼
That is not a true gimbal. It is a panning and tilting head. Not a criticism, just saying. The criticism, now, would be more about why such a complex device when there are much simpler, dedicated devices for particular activities. If I’m in the field and someone walks up with all that stuff tied to the end of their tripod, I wouldn’t know whether to chuckle or feel for them. Simple is good.
Where does the debris shield go? I have two popped out, don’t know where to go.
Sadly these flash brackets aren’t made anymore. RRS used to manufacture so many unique products. Not today.
What’s the purpose of the keyed slots at each of the 3/8” tapped holes?
Doesnt that in addition to attaching ball head seem superfluous?
The purpose is that you are leveling the BASE of the ball head, so that when panning to take a series of pictures, they will all be level.
Nice informative video about the update. Although the weight savings is nice, I'm still perfectly happy with the MKI version since it isn't something I take out shooting when I'm overly concerned about saving weight.
The art of engineering. I own only Really Right Stuff gear to support and protect my investment in camera gear. It has never let me down. Changing from full frame DSLR to MFT this tripod seems to be a perfect match to the equally well engineered OM-System.
Will you sell the cradle clamp separately like before? I have the side mount version, and only look to buy a cradle clamp. Thanks!
nothing better in this entire world then the gear that really right stuff puts out there i have many items now except the tripod expensive for myself but hopefully one day great video thanks
前段時間已經買咗,買陣時中國售價16701人民幣,依家漲價到1萬7千幾。我本身打算買個生產力工具,點知買咗理財產品😂
PG-02 but civilian?
I have a custom plate for an r5 with vertical grip, and not having a hard connection to the top left strap anchor point, it twists. The previous one for the 5D IV was perfect. This one is lacking that connection too so...
I have an older L plate for my R5 and if I try to. shoot tethered there isn't enough room for the cord when I mount it on my tripod. Are you saying this one will allow for vertical tethered capture?
Leica Q3 with the flip out screen?
Whatever happened with macro accesories especially the flash brackets and focus rails?
i may have the model number wrong.
I used my RRS-55 ball head near the ocean for a several hour time lapse. i have done all the steps you suggested for cleaning but the knobs and ball are still kind of "sticky". not the incredibly smooth operation it had when new. there is no visible anything on it. Suggestions?
Very interested in the camera strap setup used in this video. No information or links provided on the manufacturer or model of the strap and attachment components.
The main locking knob on mine is stuck and it seems impossible to fix it without spending a fortune sending it back to the US. All videos showing how to fix it don't work. Nothing ever happening to it. It's so expensive to buy one of these. It's very disappointing that it no longer works properly. I can loosen the ball with the smaller knob but its not working as it should. The main knob is completely stock, it won't tighten or loosen
Is this the best option from RRS for sports photographers needing a gimbal for large lenses, say 400/600/800 mm?
How the hell does the spring stay inside the black piece?
I'm also wondering the same thing. I just received a replacement spring from RRS and now I can't get the damn thing to stay inside the black piece and haven't been able to use the tripod in a few weeks now :(
I'd like to know this too. I've spent hours trying to get it to stay in place.
Today people use L brackets rather than flipping a camera over to a less stable position. The real feature of the head is that the pan is on top, which is essential but never mentioned thus demonstrating this actor does not shoot photography. At (0:58) the photographer locks the ball before looking at what the camera is pointed at, a foolish practice demonstrating ... see above.
Crappy promotion details no technical features, does nothing to help a buyer make this choice. A bunch of careerist marketers presume you sell with music.
Nice bracket. The desing of your tripod and ball head would hardly notice any offset force.
I need to get the lever release clamp for the leveling base this is my new 2023 setup moving forward. Exactly what I'll be using it for. Btw question with the bigger tripod that's coming in I got the apex with the bowl looks like the same one you got there but I got the longer one with the hook; can I also swap in a fluid head in there as well. I don't really need the video tripods as I'll be shooting with DSLR and mirrorless. im looking to shave off weight on the video side of things while keeping the form factor same.
Guys what happened to the TP-243? im guessing this new ground pod replaces it?
Great story.
Lousy rep, hopefully he's gone. The word is "orientation" not "direction it is pointing." PS don't shoot vids so you are looking up nostrils.
This was a great purchase for me. I wanted to shoot a photo from the summit of Diamond Head Crater in Honolulu with my camera mounted on my tripod. When I did some "scouting" on youtube, I saw that there is no room to set up a tripod there. The walking area is just too narrow. I took this clamp with me instead. I mounted the clamp to the railing and took my photos. What a great decision. I also used this clamp on a railing on top of the Astoria Column in Astoria, OR
I bought a used BH-55 (screw type, not lever) - I am looking for an L bracket for my Nikon D850, no need for battery pack accommodation.
I purchased a BH-40. It is very well built. But two problems. One is, as you swivel the ball head, at certain angles, the camera plate will be blocked by either the locking lever, or the tension adjustment knob. I was very surprised by this. Two, I have an FLM tripod. The screw-in ball head comes loose quite often from the tripod base. I'm not sure if the problem is with the head or the tripod, but I did see another user say she had the same problem with the BH-40.
The locking lever has a spring knob and can be pulled out and locked in another position.
Superb explanation 😊
sorry, O rings.
How do I replace the rings?
Very helpful.
I need help as the two knobs on my RRS ballhead are so tight neither my myself nor my husband can loosen them!! I'm in Sydney Australia so time difference makes calling less than convenient.
What is the apex moonlight idk how much it's worth
Wrap a warm cloth around the interchangeable foot for a minute or two and unscrew.
Can the plate lock be removed? Reason: I use an Arca Swiss Quickfix 26mm plate and would like to remove the plate lock and re-attach a plate lock which can accommodate a 26mm Arca Swiss plate.
Huh…why’d the video so dark?
What tripod Mr. Joe is using?
Really Right Stuff TVC-32G tripod
@@696808 Sorry to ask but are you sure, the apex looks like a TFC to me, TVC is beefier.
Could be, but they don’t sell a TFC version according to their website. Only TVC.
The tripod is a modified ground pod (-32g) that includes a TFCT apex w/ Anvil head. This isn't a configuration we sell, but it would be easy enough to frankenstein together if you owned both a TFCT- and a TVC-32g. This was just used for demonstration purposes because it fit nicely on the table-top. Generally speaking, the TFCT- isn't the greatest option for pano- work. A leveling base or a photo-centric ballhead will suit you better as something to level with underneath the PG-02.
@@ReallyRobSteffen Thank you Rob, I see it now, it makes the 32G much more compact!
what ball head do you use?? and tripod
I bought a used camera with L-plate already on it. It seems doesn't work with my Manfrotto ball head mount. Do I need to get an adapter? Thanks!
